ICFAI University, Tripura (Agartala)

Overview

ICFAI University, Tripura was established in 2009 in Agartala as part of the ICFAI Group’s network of state-specific private universities, set up under a state legislative act to expand access to higher education in Tripura. The university offers a mix of engineering, management, humanities and law programmes from its Agartala campus.

The university is UGC-recognised and its engineering department is AICTE-approved, with B.Tech programmes in Computer Science & Engineering, Electronics & Communication and Civil Engineering offered alongside the university’s broader management and business programmes, for which the ICFAI Group is more widely known nationally. As with other ICFAI Group universities, the Tripura campus follows a similar curriculum design and case-based teaching approach adapted for undergraduate engineering.

Admission to B.Tech programmes is through JEE Main scores or the university’s own entrance process, followed by university-conducted counselling. The Agartala campus offers hostel facilities for outstation students, and the placement cell works to connect graduates with regional employers as well as some national recruiters. Note: This university’s engineering programmes are smaller in scale compared to its management programmes; placement and infrastructure data specific to engineering should be verified directly with the institution.
