The University of Rajasthan, set up in 1947 in Jaipur, is the oldest university in the state and one of its largest. Its main campus on JLN Marg houses the university teaching departments, and its constituent colleges in the city include the University Maharaja’s College (science), the University Commerce College and the University Maharani’s College for women.

It is a state government university recognised by the UGC. Undergraduate and postgraduate programmes span arts and social sciences, sciences, commerce and management, and computer applications (MCA). The university also affiliates a large number of colleges across the Jaipur region.

Admission to undergraduate courses at the constituent colleges is merit-based on Class 12 marks, with state reservation rules applied. Postgraduate admission follows the university’s own notified process each year. Sign up free to see fees by quota, closing ranks and placement data.
