Overview

Indian Institute of Management Mumbai (IIM Mumbai) was founded in 1963 by the Government of India as the National Institute of Industrial Engineering (NITIE), at Vihar Lake in Powai, Mumbai. In 2023 it was brought under the Indian Institutes of Management Act through the IIM (Amendment) Act, 2023 and renamed IIM Mumbai.

IIM Mumbai is an Institute of National Importance and awards its own degrees. Its two-year full-time programmes are the MBA, MBA (Operations and Supply Chain Management) and MBA (Sustainability Management), alongside executive, weekend and doctoral programmes. It was ranked 6th in the NIRF 2025 Management category.
