Overview

Veermata Jijabai Technological Institute (VJTI) was founded in 1887, making it one of the oldest engineering institutions in India. Its campus lies on H. R. Mahajani Marg in Matunga, central Mumbai, within easy reach of the Matunga and Dadar suburban stations. Originally known as the Victoria Jubilee Technical Institute, it was later renamed after Veermata Jijabai and today offers degree, postgraduate and diploma programmes across engineering and technology.

VJTI is a government-aided autonomous institute affiliated to the University of Mumbai, autonomous since 2004, and is placed in the NIRF 2025 Engineering 101–150 band. B.Tech branches include Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Electrical, Electronics, Electronics & Telecommunication, Mechanical, Production, Civil and Textile Technology.
