Overview

Sardar Patel Institute of Technology (SPIT) is located on the Bhavan’s campus at Munshi Nagar in Andheri (West), in Mumbai’s western suburbs. The institute grew out of the unaided wing of Sardar Patel College of Engineering and has operated under its present name since 2005. The leafy campus is a short ride from Andheri station and the Western Express Highway, and the institute is known for its computing and electronics programmes and its technology business incubator.

SPIT is a self-financed, empowered autonomous institute affiliated to the University of Mumbai, accredited with NAAC Grade A, and its eligible programmes are NBA-accredited. B.Tech branches are Computer Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering and Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering, and the institute also offers M.Tech, MCA and PhD programmes. A hostel project is under development, so outstation students should plan private accommodation near Andheri for now.

First-year B.Tech seats are filled through the State CET Cell’s CAP rounds, on MHT CET for Maharashtra seats and JEE Main for All-India seats, with a small institute-level quota. Eligibility

Class 12 (HSC) with Physics and Mathematics plus Chemistry or another permitted subject, meeting Maharashtra CAP minimum marks, and a valid MHT CET score (Maharashtra seats) or JEE Main score (All-India seats).
