Overview

Institute of Chemical Technology (ICT) traces its origins to 1933, when it began as the University Department of Chemical Technology of the University of Mumbai. Its campus sits on Nathalal Parekh Marg in Matunga, in the heart of central Mumbai’s education belt, and is easy to reach from the Matunga and King’s Circle suburban stations. Over nine decades it has built a strong reputation in chemical engineering, applied chemistry and allied technologies.

ICT is a Deemed-to-be University (since 2008) and a state-funded public institute, accredited NAAC A++ and placed at NIRF 2025 Engineering rank 41. Undergraduate options include B.Chem.Engg. and B.Tech programmes in chemical and allied technologies such as dyestuff, fibres and textile processing, food engineering, oils and oleochemicals, pharmaceutical chemistry, and polymer and surface engineering, along with B.Pharm. It runs extensive postgraduate and PhD programmes, and the campus has separate hostels for men and women.

B.Chem.Engg. and B.Tech seats are filled through the State CET Cell’s CAP rounds, using MHT CET for Maharashtra-quota seats and JEE Main for All-India seats. Eligibility

Class 12 (HSC) with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics meeting Maharashtra CAP minimum marks, plus a valid MHT CET score (Maharashtra seats) or JEE Main score (All-India seats).
