The School of Journalism and Mass Communication (SJMC) at Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya is one of central India’s longest-running journalism departments, with more than four decades of teaching. It is based on the DAVV campus in Indore.
It is a teaching department of DAVV, a Madhya Pradesh state university recognised by the UGC. Full-time programmes include the four-year BA in Journalism and Mass Communication, a one-year Bachelor of Journalism, an MA in Journalism and Mass Communication, an MA in Film Studies and a PhD.
