Calcutta Institute of Engineering and Management (CIEM) opened in 2003 and is located at 24/1A Chandi Ghosh Road in Tollygunge, south Kolkata. Tollygunge and Mahanayak Uttam Kumar metro stations are close by, which makes the campus one of the easier engineering colleges to reach by public transport from across south and central Kolkata. It is a small campus inside a residential part of the city.

CIEM is a private college affiliated to MAKAUT and approved by AICTE. The college says it is NAAC accredited, but the grade could not be confirmed, and it is not listed in NIRF 2025. B.Tech is offered in five core branches: Computer Science & Engineering, Information Technology, Electronics & Communication, Electrical and Civil Engineering. The college also runs BBA, BBA (Business Analytics), BCA, a B.Sc in data science and an MBA. Its WBJEEB profile does not list hostels.
