Overview

Academy of Technology (AOT) was established in 2003 on G.T. Road at Adisaptagram, in Hooghly district, on the north-western fringe of the Kolkata metro area near Bandel and Chinsurah. Adisaptagram station on the Howrah–Bandel line is nearby, so students from Howrah, Hooghly and the northern suburbs can travel in by local train. It is one of the larger private engineering colleges on the Hooghly side of the river.

AOT is a private college affiliated to MAKAUT, approved by AICTE and recognised by the West Bengal Department of Higher Education. A NAAC grade could not be confirmed from official sources, and it is not listed in NIRF 2025. B.Tech branches are Computer Science & Engineering, CSE (AI & Machine Learning), Computer Science & Business Systems, Electronics & Communication, Electrical, Electrical & Electronics and Mechanical Engineering. The college also offers an MCA and has separate boys’ and girls’ hostels on campus.

10+2 with Physics and Mathematics plus Chemistry or another eligible science/technical subject as per WBJEEB and AICTE norms, with a valid WBJEE or JEE Main rank; diploma holders can enter the second year through JELET.

B.Tech seats are allotted through WBJEEB counselling on WBJEE ranks, with JEE Main rank holders also eligible for seats in the same counselling; any remaining seats are filled by the college under state rules.
