Overview

RCC Institute of Information Technology (RCCIIT) was founded in 1999 on Canal South Road in Beliaghata, in the eastern part of central Kolkata. It began as a joint venture between the National Informatics Centre of the Government of India and the West Bengal government, and full management passed to the state government in 2003. The compact urban campus is split into an old and a new building standing only a few metres apart.

RCCIIT is a government institute under the Department of Higher Education, Government of West Bengal, affiliated to Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology (MAKAUT). It holds a NAAC B++ grade, and NBA has accredited its CSE, IT, ECE and Electrical Engineering programmes. B.Tech branches are Computer Science & Engineering, CSE (AI & Machine Learning), Information Technology, Electronics & Communication and Electrical Engineering, alongside BCA, MCA and M.Tech. The institute does not run its own hostel.

B.Tech admission is on WBJEE ranks through WBJEEB counselling, where RCCIIT appears in the self-financing college list, and JEE Main rank holders can also seek seats through the board. Eligibility

Class 12 (10+2) with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects and the minimum aggregate prescribed by WBJEEB/AICTE for the candidate's category.

Admission process

B.Tech seats are allotted on WBJEE ranks through WBJEEB counselling (RCCIIT is in the self-financing college list); JEE Main rank holders can also be allotted seats through WBJEEB.
