Overview

Heritage Institute of Technology (HITK) opened in 2001 in Anandapur, on the eastern side of south Kolkata. The campus stands on Chowbaga Road in Madurdaha, directly behind Ruby Hospital and close to the Eastern Metropolitan Bypass, the arterial road that connects this part of the city with Salt Lake, Park Circus and Garia. Over two decades it has grown into one of the better-known private engineering colleges in the Kolkata area.

HITK is an autonomous college affiliated to Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology (MAKAUT); autonomy came in 2017 and has been extended up to 2034–35. It holds a NAAC ‘A’ grade and AICTE approval. Its 13 B.Tech branches include CSE and its AI/ML, Data Science and IoT/Cyber Security tracks, CS & Business Systems, IT, ECE, Electrical, Applied Electronics & Instrumentation, Mechanical, Civil, Chemical and Biotechnology. M.Tech and MCA are also offered, with separate hostels for boys and girls.

B.Tech seats are allotted on WBJEE ranks through WBJEEB counselling, and JEE Main rank holders can also compete for seats through the board. Eligibility

Class 12 (10+2) with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects and the minimum aggregate prescribed by WBJEEB/AICTE for the candidate's category.
