Overview

Anurag University is located at Venkatapur in Ghatkesar mandal of Medchal-Malkajgiri district, on the eastern outskirts of Hyderabad, in the same education cluster as several other engineering campuses. It grew out of the institutions earlier run as the Anurag Group of Institutions and now operates as a multi-school university, with engineering as its largest school alongside pharmacy, management and other disciplines.

Anurag University is a private state university in Telangana that awards its own degrees and is recognised by the UGC; several of its programmes hold NBA accreditation. In NIRF 2025 it is placed in the Engineering 101–150 band. B.Tech programmes include CSE, CSE (Data Science), Artificial Intelligence, EEE, Mechanical and Civil Engineering, with M.Tech and Ph.D. options in engineering. On-campus hostels for boys and girls offer AC and non-AC rooms, with a central dining hall.

B.Tech admission uses TG EAPCET ranks (a share of seats is filled through TG EAPCET counselling), JEE Main scores or the university’s own AnuragCET, through the university’s online application. Pass in Intermediate / Class 12 with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (minimum 45% aggregate per the university; 60% in PCM for the institutional category) plus a TG EAPCET rank, JEE Main score or AnuragCET score.

A share of B.Tech seats is filled through TG EAPCET counselling; the remaining seats are filled by the university through its online application using TG EAPCET, JEE Main or AnuragCET scores.
