Overview

Don Bosco Institute of Technology (DBIT), Mumbai was established in 2001 and is located on Premier Automobiles Road in Kurla West, in central Mumbai. It is a Roman Catholic religious-minority institution and is a different college from the similarly named Don Bosco Institute of Technology in Bengaluru. The compact city campus concentrates on undergraduate engineering, with most of its intake in computing and electronics, and it serves students from across the Central and Harbour suburbs.

DBIT is a private autonomous institute affiliated to the University of Mumbai, approved by AICTE, ISO 9001:2015 certified and accredited by NAAC with an ‘A’ grade. B.E. branches are Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Electronics & Telecommunication and Mechanical Engineering, supported by a Basic Sciences & Humanities department for first-year teaching. Diploma holders can join through direct second-year entry, and scholarships, including minority and EBC schemes, are available to eligible students.

First-year seats are allotted through MHT CET scores in the Maharashtra CAP rounds run by the State CET Cell, with a share of seats for Catholic minority candidates as permitted under state rules. Passed HSC / Class 12 with Physics and Mathematics compulsory plus Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology, Computer Science or a technical vocational subject, with at least 45% in these subjects (40% for eligible reserved categories from Maharashtra), and a non-zero MHT CET score.
