The Management Aptitude Test (MAT) is an MBA entrance test conducted by the All India Management Association (AIMA). It is held four times a year (February, May, September and December), and candidates can choose a paper-based (PBT) or computer-based (CBT) mode.

What MAT is used for

  • B-school admission: MAT scores are used for admission to management programmes at participating B-schools.
  • Score validity: one year.
  • Multiple windows: the four-window calendar lets you take the test more than once in a year.

MAT has five sections of 30 questions each, 150 questions in 120 minutes: Language Comprehension, Intelligence and Critical Reasoning, Mathematical Skills, Data Analysis and Sufficiency, and Economic and Business Environment. Each wrong answer costs 0.25 marks.
