Overview
The Common Management Admission Test (CMAT) is a national-level, computer-based entrance exam for management programmes, conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). NTA’s CMAT site says it is recognised by AICTE-approved institutions, university departments, and constituent and affiliated colleges.
What CMAT is used for
- MBA/PGDM admission: accepted by many AICTE-approved B-schools and university management departments across India.
- Mode: computer-based test (CBT) of three hours, as described for previous cycles on the NTA site.
- Areas tested: quantitative techniques, logical reasoning, language comprehension and general awareness, with innovation and entrepreneurship also assessed in recent cycles.
CMAT 2027 dates
NTA’s published examination calendar proposes 7 February 2027 for CMAT 2027. Registration dates and the information bulletin were not yet on the NTA CMAT site at the time of this update (7 October 2026). Check exams.nta.ac.in/CMAT for the official notification before applying.

Eligibility
Check the CMAT 2027 information bulletin on the NTA site. Third-party sources report a bachelor's degree in any discipline, with final-year students eligible, but this has not been confirmed for the 2027 cycle.
