Overview
The GMAT Focus Edition is the current version of the Graduate Management Admission Test, administered by the Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC). Unlike CAT or XAT, it is not tied to a single annual date: you book a slot of your choice, at a test center or online at home.

Pattern at a glance
The exam takes 2 hours 15 minutes (plus one optional 10-minute break) and has three 45-minute sections: Quantitative Reasoning (21 questions), Verbal Reasoning (23) and Data Insights (20), 64 questions in all. You can choose the section order. The total score runs from 205 to 805.

The GMAT Focus Edition has no fixed exam date. You schedule an appointment at a test center or online at home. Official scores usually arrive within 3 to 5 days of the exam, and sometimes take up to 20 days. Scores are valid for five years.
