Overview
The College of Arts and Crafts in Lucknow began as the School of Industrial Design in 1892. Its permanent building opened in 1911, and it merged with the University of Lucknow in 1975, when its diplomas became degree courses. It is one of the oldest art schools in north India and has its own arts and crafts museum.
It is the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Lucknow, a state university. The Bachelor of Visual Arts (BVA) offers specialisations in painting, applied art, sculpture, textile design and Indian traditional sculpture. Master’s programmes are offered in painting, applied art and sculpture.
