Overview
Mizoram University, Aizawl was established in 2001 by an Act of Parliament as a central university, having grown out of the erstwhile Mizoram campus of North-Eastern Hill University, and today serves as the premier institution of higher education in the state of Mizoram.
Mizoram University is a central university and its programmes are recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC). It offers undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral programmes across humanities, sciences, social sciences, management, law and engineering, with a research focus on the ecology and culture of the eastern Himalayan region.
