Government Sri Krishnarajendra Silver Jubilee Technological Institute (SKSJTI) is a government engineering college located at K.R. Circle in central Bangalore, close to the city’s main government offices and older college campuses. Popularly called SKSJTI, it is one of the few colleges in Karnataka that teaches textile and silk technology at degree level, alongside mainstream branches such as computer science and electronics.

SKSJTI is affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU) and is run by the Government of Karnataka. Its B.E. programmes include Computer Science & Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering and Civil Engineering, as well as the specialised Textile Technology and Silk Technology branches that link to Karnataka’s sericulture and textile industries. Being a government college, it is one of the most affordable options for engineering in central Bangalore, and its city-centre location is well connected by metro and bus.

Admission is through KCET counselling conducted by KEA; there is no COMEDK or management quota as in private colleges. Computer Science and Electronics seats are the most sought after, while students aiming for the textile or silk branches should first look into the specialised career paths in textile mills, sericulture and quality testing. Passed 2nd PUC / Class 12 with Physics, Mathematics and English plus Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology, Computer Science or Electronics, with at least 45% in the qualifying subjects (40% for eligible reserved categories), and a valid KCET rank.
