Overview

Narula Institute of Technology was set up in 2001 at 81 Nilgunj Road, Agarpara, on Kolkata’s northern fringe in North 24 Parganas. It is often shortened to “NIT Agarpara”, but it is a private college and has no link with the government-run National Institutes of Technology. The campus is a short ride from Agarpara and Sodepur stations on the Sealdah main line and from the B.T. Road corridor.

Narula is a private autonomous college affiliated to MAKAUT, approved by AICTE and recognised by UGC. It holds a NAAC ‘A’ grade, most eligible programmes are NBA accredited, and it sits in the 201–300 band of NIRF 2025 (Engineering). B.Tech branches cover CSE, CSE (AI & ML), CSE (Data Science), Computer Science & Technology, CSBS, IT, ECE, Electronics & Computer Science, Electrical, Civil and Mechanical. M.Tech, MCA, BCA, BBA, diplomas and B.Voc are also offered, with separate boys’ and girls’ hostels.

Eligibility

10+2 with Physics and Mathematics plus Chemistry or another eligible science/technical subject as per WBJEEB and AICTE norms, with a valid WBJEE or JEE Main rank; diploma holders can enter the second year through JELET.

Admission process

B.Tech seats are allotted through WBJEEB counselling on WBJEE ranks, with JEE Main rank holders also eligible for seats in the same counselling; any remaining seats are filled by the college under state rules.
