Overview

MKSSS’s Cummins College of Engineering for Women was established in 1991 with support from the Cummins Diesel (India) Foundation, and it describes itself as the first all-women engineering college in India. It is located in Karvenagar, a quiet residential neighbourhood in south-west Pune next to Kothrud and Warje, and it admits only women students to all of its programmes.

CCOEW is an autonomous college (since 2016–17) affiliated to Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU), accredited with an A grade by NAAC in 2023 and by NBA over several cycles. It is in the NIRF 2025 Engineering 201–300 band. B.Tech branches are Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Electronics & Telecommunication, Instrumentation & Control and Mechanical Engineering, with four M.Tech programmes and a PhD. On-campus hostels can house about 800 students.

Seats are allotted through the State CET Cell’s CAP rounds on MHT CET scores, with All India seats on JEE Main; only women candidates are eligible. Eligibility

Women candidates only: Class 12 (HSC) with Physics and Mathematics plus Chemistry or another allowed subject, meeting the Maharashtra State CET Cell's minimum marks, and a valid MHT CET score (or JEE Main for All India seats).

Admission process

First-year B.Tech seats are allotted to women candidates through the Maharashtra State CET Cell's Centralised Admission Process (CAP) on MHT CET scores, with All India seats on JEE Main.
