Overview

Institute of Engineering & Management (IEM) was founded in 1989 and is one of the older private engineering colleges in West Bengal. Its main campus is in Sector V of the Salt Lake Electronics Complex, Kolkata’s IT hub, and some teaching also runs from the group’s building in New Town Action Area III. IEM belongs to the IEM-UEM Group, which also runs the University of Engineering & Management.

IEM is a private engineering college that states it is affiliated to the University of Engineering & Management, Kolkata. It holds a NAAC ‘A’ grade, has NBA accreditation for eligible departments including CSE, IT, ECE and EE, and is placed in the 151–200 band of NIRF 2025 (Engineering). B.Tech branches include Computer Science (with several specialisations), Information Technology, Electronics & Communication, Electrical, Electrical & Electronics and Mechanical Engineering, alongside BCA, BBA, MBA and M.Tech. Separate boys’ and girls’ hostels are available.
