Overview
Sardar Patel College of Engineering (SPCE) opened in 1962 on Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan’s campus at Munshi Nagar, Andheri West, in Mumbai’s western suburbs. Its foundation stone was laid in 1961, and the college sits on a green 47-acre campus in the middle of the city. With more than six decades behind it, SPCE is one of Mumbai’s older engineering colleges and has kept its focus on the core disciplines of civil, mechanical and electrical engineering.
SPCE is a government-aided autonomous college affiliated to the University of Mumbai, with autonomy granted by the UGC in 2010. The college is NAAC accredited, and its B.Tech Civil and Mechanical programmes have held NBA accreditation. It offers B.Tech in Civil, Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, M.Tech programmes including Machine Design, Thermal Engineering and Construction Engineering, and PhD research through the University of Mumbai. Hostel accommodation is available for students.
First-year B.Tech seats are allotted through MHT CET scores in the Maharashtra CAP rounds conducted by the State CET Cell. Passed HSC / Class 12 with Physics and Mathematics compulsory plus Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology, Computer Science or a technical vocational subject, with at least 45% in these subjects (40% for eligible reserved categories from Maharashtra), and a non-zero MHT CET score.
