Overview

Manipal Institute of Technology Bengaluru (MIT Bengaluru) is the engineering institute on the Bengaluru campus of the Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE), at Govindapura, Yelahanka, in north Bangalore. It is a newer sister institute of the long-established MIT Manipal and shares the Yelahanka campus with other MAHE institutions, including T. A. Pai Management Institute, Srishti Manipal Institute of Art, Design and Technology, Manipal Law School and the Manipal Institute of Commerce, Finance and Economics.

MIT Bengaluru’s degrees are awarded by Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE), a deemed-to-be university with Institution of Eminence status, so it is not affiliated to VTU. MAHE holds an A++ grade from NAAC. B.Tech options include Computer Science & Engineering, a CSE dual-degree option, Mathematics & Computing, Computer Science & Financial Technology, Electronics & Communication, Electronics Engineering (VLSI Design & Technology) and Robotics & Artificial Intelligence. M.Tech programmes are also offered, and the campus has hostels.

Admission is through MAHE’s own Manipal Entrance Test (MET) followed by online counselling; MAHE does not use KCET, COMEDK UGET or JEE Main results for these B.Tech seats. The first two semesters are common to all branches, and students choose or confirm their branch in the third semester on the basis of academic performance. Eligibility

Passed Class 12 with Physics and Mathematics plus Chemistry or another permitted science subject, with the minimum marks set by MAHE, and a valid Manipal Entrance Test (MET) score.

Admission process

Register on MAHE's application portal and take the Manipal Entrance Test (MET); B.Tech seats are allotted in MAHE's online counselling on the basis of MET rank. KCET, COMEDK and JEE Main are not used.
