Overview
Sri Sairam College of Engineering was established in 1997 and was earlier known as Shirdi Sai Engineering College. Its campus is at Sai Leo Nagar, Guddanahalli, off Samandur Post in Anekal taluk, on the south-eastern fringe of Bangalore Urban district. Anekal town lies roughly 15 km from Electronic City and Hosur, so the college draws students from south Bangalore and the Hosur Road industrial belt who are comfortable with a quieter, self-contained campus away from the city centre.
The college is affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU), Belagavi, approved by AICTE and NAAC-accredited. It offers B.E. in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning, CSE (IoT & Cyber Security), Information Science, Electronics & Communication, Electrical & Electronics and Mechanical Engineering. A Ph.D. research programme is run in Mechanical Engineering, and separate hostels for boys and girls are available for students who do not want a daily commute.
Admission to B.E. is through KCET for government-quota seats and COMEDK UGET for COMEDK seats, plus management quota handled by the college. Passed 2nd PUC / Class 12 with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects plus Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology, Computer Science or Electronics, with at least 45% in these subjects (40% for eligible reserved categories), and a valid KCET or COMEDK UGET rank as applicable.
