Overview

Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham started its Bengaluru campus in 2002 at Kasavanahalli, near Carmelaram off Sarjapur Road in south-east Bangalore. The campus is part of Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, a multi-campus deemed university headquartered at Ettimadai in Coimbatore, and its degrees are awarded by that university. The roughly 50-acre Bengaluru campus now houses the School of Engineering, the School of Computing, the School of Artificial Intelligence and the School of Business.

Amrita is a deemed-to-be university that awards its own degrees and is not affiliated to VTU; the university holds an A++ grade from NAAC. B.Tech programmes on the Bengaluru campus include Computer Science & Engineering, CSE (Artificial Intelligence), Artificial Intelligence & Data Science, Electronics & Communication, Electrical & Electronics, Mechanical and Civil Engineering. The campus also offers postgraduate engineering and business programmes, and has hostel accommodation for students.

Admission is through Amrita’s own AEEE (Amrita Entrance Examination – Engineering) or JEE Main: the better of a candidate’s AEEE rank and JEE Main rank is used in Amrita’s counselling, where students choose a campus and branch. KCET and COMEDK are not part of Amrita’s admission process. Tuition depends on the rank-based fee slab a student qualifies for, so a strong AEEE or JEE Main rank matters. Apply through Amrita's admissions portal; the better of the AEEE rank and JEE Main CRL is used in Amrita's online counselling, where candidates choose campus and branch. KCET and COMEDK are not used.
