Overview

Islamiah Institute of Technology was established in 1979 and describes itself as the first minority engineering college in Karnataka. Its campus is on National Park Road at Hulimavu, just off Bannerghatta Road in south Bangalore, on the way to Bannerghatta National Park. The location is well served by city buses along Bannerghatta Road and is within reach of Jayanagar, JP Nagar and BTM Layout.

The college is affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU) and approved by AICTE. It is a small institution offering four-year B.E. programmes in Computer Science, Electronics & Communication, Mechanical and Civil Engineering. The campus includes a library, departmental laboratories, a canteen, transport and a health centre, and students from economically weaker backgrounds can apply for government and community scholarships.

B.E. admission is through KCET counselling conducted by KEA, plus management quota seats handled by the college. Eligibility

Passed 2nd PUC / Class 12 with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects plus Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology, Computer Science or Electronics, with at least 45% in these subjects (40% for eligible reserved categories), and a valid KCET rank for government-quota seats.

Admission process

Government-quota B.E. seats are allotted through KCET counselling (KEA). Management-quota seats are handled directly by the college.
