Overview

East West College of Engineering (EWCE) was established in 2015 and is located in Sector A, Yelahanka New Town, in north Bangalore. It belongs to the East West Group of Institutions but is a separate college from East West Institute of Technology (EWIT), which is on the BEL Layout side of the city. Yelahanka is well connected to the airport road and the northern suburbs, and the college describes a compact, green campus.

EWCE is affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU), Belagavi, and approved by AICTE. Its B.E. programme covers five branches: Computer Science & Engineering, Electronics & Communication, Aeronautical Engineering, Agricultural Engineering and Mechanical Engineering. Aeronautical and Agricultural Engineering are offered by relatively few colleges in Bangalore, which gives EWCE a distinctive mix of branches. Separate hostels for boys and girls are available for students coming from outside the city.

Admission is through KCET and COMEDK UGET, plus management quota. When you fill options in counselling, make sure you pick East West College of Engineering (Yelahanka) and not East West Institute of Technology, since the two names are easy to confuse in a long option list. Passed 2nd PUC / Class 12 with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects plus Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology, Computer Science or Electronics, with at least 45% in these subjects (40% for eligible reserved categories), and a valid KCET or COMEDK UGET rank as applicable.

Government-quota seats are allotted through KCET counselling (KEA) and COMEDK-quota seats through COMEDK UGET counselling. Management-quota seats are handled directly by the college.
