Overview

Don Bosco Institute of Technology (DBIT) was established in 2001 and has a large campus at Kumbalagodu on Mysore Road, past Kengeri in south-west Bangalore.

DBIT is affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU) and became autonomous in 2024. It is approved by AICTE, holds a NAAC A grade and has NBA accreditation for several B.E. programmes. Branches include Computer Science, AI & Machine Learning, AI & Data Science, Cyber Security, Information Science, Electronics & Communication, Electrical & Electronics, Mechanical and Civil Engineering. It also runs an MBA and Ph.D. programmes, and has separate hostels for boys and girls.

Eligibility

Passed 2nd PUC / Class 12 with Physics, Mathematics and English plus Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology, Computer Science or Electronics, with at least 45% in the qualifying subjects (40% for eligible reserved categories), and a valid KCET, COMEDK UGET or JEE Main rank as applicable.

Admission process

Government-quota seats through KCET counselling (KEA), COMEDK-quota seats through COMEDK counselling, and some seats through JEE Main. A limited number of management-quota seats are filled by the college.
