Overview

Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Technology (MGIT) was established in 1997 and has its campus at Kokapet village in Gandipet mandal of Ranga Reddy district, in the same locality as CBIT on the western side of Hyderabad. The college lies close to the Financial District and the Narsingi–Gachibowli IT belt, which makes it convenient for students living in the city’s western suburbs.

MGIT is a private autonomous college affiliated to Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Hyderabad (JNTUH), with UGC autonomy covering 2021–2031. It holds an A++ grade from NAAC and has been NBA-accredited four times for eligible programmes; it is not listed in NIRF 2025 Engineering. Its eleven B.Tech branches are CSE, CSE (AI & ML), CSE (Data Science), Computer Science & Business Systems, IT, ECE, EEE, Mechanical, Mechatronics, Civil and Metallurgical & Materials Engineering.
