Overview
The Institute for Post Graduate Teaching and Research in Ayurveda (IPGT&RA), Jamnagar was established in 1956 as the Postgraduate Training Centre in Ayurveda and is today a constituent institute of Gujarat Ayurved University — widely regarded as one of the oldest and most prestigious centres for advanced Ayurvedic education and research in India.
IPGT&RA’s postgraduate and doctoral programmes in Ayurveda are recognized by the National Commission for Indian System of Medicine (NCISM), and the institute is affiliated to Gujarat Ayurved University. It houses specialized research departments (Dravyaguna, Rasashastra, Kayachikitsa and others), a large Ayurveda teaching hospital, and pharmacognosy and pharmacology laboratories used for classical drug standardization.
