Overview

Indian Institute of Information Technology Pune (IIIT Pune) was established in 2016 under the public-private partnership model, with the central government, the Maharashtra government and industry partners as stakeholders. It operates in the Pune area, one of India’s largest IT and education hubs, while its permanent campus is developed.

IIIT Pune is an Institute of National Importance under the IIIT (PPP) Act. B.Tech programmes are in computer science and electronics and communication engineering. Its location gives students access to Pune’s large software and product-company ecosystem for internships. Hostel arrangements are made for undergraduate students.

Eligibility

Class 12 with Physics and Mathematics (plus Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology or a technical vocational subject) meeting the JoSAA 75% (65% for SC/ST/PwD) or top-20-percentile criterion, and a valid JEE Main rank.

Admission process

B.Tech seats are allotted through JoSAA counselling (and CSAB special rounds for vacant seats) on the all-India JEE Main rank; IIITs have no home-state quota.
