Overview

Graphic Era University, Dehradun was established in 1993 by Dr. Kamal Ghanshala, initially as a technical training institute before growing into one of Uttarakhand’s largest private higher education institutions. It attained Deemed-to-be-University status in 2008 and today operates from a large campus on the Dehradun-Haridwar highway, alongside a sister institution, Graphic Era Hill University, at other locations in the state.

The university is UGC-recognised and AICTE-approved, offering B.Tech, M.Tech, MBA, MCA, Pharmacy, Law and doctoral programmes across a wide range of departments including Computer Science, Electronics, Mechanical, Civil, Electrical and Biotechnology Engineering. Graphic Era has featured in NIRF rankings in recent years and has built one of the larger placement operations among Uttarakhand’s private universities, with a dedicated training and placement division.

Admission to B.Tech programmes is through JEE Main scores followed by the university’s own counselling process, with a management quota also available for direct admission. The campus offers extensive hostel accommodation, sports facilities, and the placement cell brings in a large number of IT services, core engineering and consulting recruiters each placement season.
