Overview
Indian Institute of Information Technology Surat (IIIT Surat) was established in 2017 under the public-private partnership model, with the central government, the Gujarat government and industry partners as stakeholders. It is mentored by SVNIT Surat and has operated from the SVNIT campus while its own campus is developed.
IIIT Surat is an Institute of National Importance under the IIIT (PPP) Act. B.Tech programmes are in computer science and electronics and communication engineering, taught in small batches. Hostel arrangements are made for undergraduate students.

B.Tech seats are allotted through JoSAA counselling (and CSAB special rounds for vacant seats) on the all-India JEE Main rank; IIITs have no home-state quota.
