Overview
Indian Institute of Information Technology Guwahati (IIIT Guwahati) was established in 2013 under the public-private partnership model, with the central government, the Assam government and industry partners as stakeholders. Its permanent campus is at Bongora, on the southern outskirts of Guwahati, not far from the city’s airport.
IIIT Guwahati is an Institute of National Importance under the IIIT (PPP) Act. B.Tech programmes are in computer science and electronics and communication engineering, with a curriculum oriented towards software, systems and embedded technology. Hostels are provided for undergraduate students.

Class 12 with Physics and Mathematics (plus Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology or a technical vocational subject) meeting the JoSAA 75% (65% for SC/ST/PwD) or top-20-percentile criterion, and a valid JEE Main rank.
Admission process
B.Tech seats are allotted through JoSAA counselling (and CSAB special rounds for vacant seats) on the all-India JEE Main rank; IIITs have no home-state quota.
