Overview
Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology (MNNIT) Allahabad was established in 1961 as the Motilal Nehru Regional Engineering College and became an NIT in 2002. The campus is at Teliarganj in Prayagraj (formerly Allahabad), Uttar Pradesh, close to the city centre and to Prayagraj Junction railway station.
MNNIT is an Institute of National Importance placed at NIRF 2025 Engineering rank 62. Its NIRF position understates its demand: its CSE seat is among the five hardest NIT seats to get in JoSAA, thanks to a strong computing culture and placement record. B.Tech programmes include computer science, electronics and communication, electrical, mechanical, production and industrial, chemical, civil and biotechnology. Hostels are provided for undergraduate students.

Class 12 with Physics and Mathematics (plus Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology or a technical vocational subject) meeting the JoSAA 75% (65% for SC/ST/PwD) or top-20-percentile criterion, and a valid JEE Main rank.
Admission process
B.Tech seats are allotted through JoSAA counselling (and CSAB special rounds for vacant seats) on the JEE Main rank, with 50% Home State (Uttar Pradesh) and 50% Other State quotas.
