Overview
Indian Institute of Information Technology Allahabad (IIIT Allahabad) was established in 1999 by the central government as one of India’s first IIITs, focused on information technology and allied areas. Its residential campus is at Jhalwa, on the western side of Prayagraj (formerly Allahabad) in Uttar Pradesh.
IIIT Allahabad is an Institute of National Importance and is fully funded by the Ministry of Education. Its B.Tech programmes are in information technology, information technology (business informatics) and electronics and communication engineering, and it has a strong reputation for competitive programming and software placements. Hostels are provided for undergraduate students.
B.Tech seats are filled on JEE Main ranks through JoSAA counselling. Unlike NITs, IIITs have no home-state quota, so all seats are filled on the all-India rank. Class 12 with Physics and Mathematics (plus Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology or a technical vocational subject) meeting the JoSAA 75% (65% for SC/ST/PwD) or top-20-percentile criterion, and a valid JEE Main rank.
Admission process
