With NTA’s calendar placing JEE Main 2027 Session 1 on 22–30 January 2027, the next milestone for aspirants is the registration form. As of 25 September 2026, NTA has not announced the registration dates or released the information bulletin.
When will JEE Main 2027 registration open?
Session 1 registration is widely expected to open around the last week of October 2026, going by previous years and the January exam window. Session 2 registration usually opens in early February. These are expectations, not official dates. The form will only be available on jeemain.nta.nic.in.
Documents to keep ready
The exact size and format rules will be in the 2027 information bulletin, but in past years candidates have needed:
- A recent passport-size photograph with a light background
- Your scanned signature
- A valid photo ID, such as Aadhaar
- Class 10 details (used for date of birth)
- Class 12 details, or appearing status if you are in Class 12 now
- A category certificate (EWS, OBC-NCL, SC or ST) or a PwD certificate, if applicable
- An email address and mobile number that you control, because all NTA updates go there
Make sure your name, date of birth and category are spelled the same way on every document. Mismatches are one of the most common reasons for trouble at counselling.
Decisions to make before you fill the form
- Paper: Paper 1 (B.E./B.Tech) is the one most engineering aspirants need. Paper 2 is for B.Arch and B.Planning.
- Exam city choices: pick cities you can reach easily on exam day.
- One or both sessions: you can register for Session 1 now and Session 2 later. Your better score is used for ranking.
Avoid fake registration links
Every year, lookalike websites and social media posts share fake “registration links”. Only apply on jeemain.nta.nic.in, and pay the fee only through the payment page inside that portal.
