Overview

University College of Engineering, Osmania University was established in 1929, which makes it the oldest engineering institution in Telangana. It has worked from its present building on the Osmania University campus since 1947. The campus lies in north-eastern Hyderabad, between Tarnaka and Amberpet, inside the large wooded university grounds that also house the arts, science and technology colleges of Osmania University.

UCE is a constituent college of Osmania University, a state university; it became autonomous in 1994 and gained UGC-level autonomy in 2010. Its website states a NAAC A+ grade, and it is placed in the NIRF 2025 Engineering band 101–150. B.E. branches are Biomedical, Civil, Computer Science, Electronics & Communication, Electrical, Mechanical and Mining Engineering, with newer options such as AI & Machine Learning. It also offers M.E./M.Tech and MCA, and hostel facilities are available.
