K. J. Somaiya Institute of Technology (KJSIT), known earlier as K. J. Somaiya Institute of Engineering and Information Technology (KJSIEIT), was established in 2001. It is located in the Somaiya Ayurvihar Complex on the Eastern Express Highway near Everard Nagar, Sion East, in central Mumbai. Part of the Somaiya group of institutions, it is an unaided Gujarati linguistic minority college whose programmes centre on computing, data science and electronics.

KJSIT is a private autonomous college permanently affiliated to the University of Mumbai, with autonomy granted by the UGC. It holds NAAC ‘A’ accreditation, and its Computer Engineering, Electronics & Telecommunication and Information Technology programmes are NBA accredited. B.Tech branches are Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Electronics & Telecommunication and AI & Data Science, each with 120 seats. It also offers an M.Tech in Artificial Intelligence and PhD research, and students can apply for Somaiya Trust hostels at Vidyavihar and Ayurvihar.

First-year seats are filled through the Maharashtra CAP rounds of the State CET Cell using MHT CET scores, while All India candidates can apply with JEE Main; seats left vacant after CAP are offered at institute level through an online pre-admission form. Eligibility

Passed HSC / Class 12 with Physics and Mathematics compulsory plus one of Chemistry, Computer Science or another listed elective, with at least 45% (40% for eligible reserved categories), and a non-zero MHT CET score; All India candidates need a JEE Main (preferred) or MHT CET score.
