Dr. D. Y. Patil Institute of Technology (DIT) opened in 1998 on the main D. Y. Patil campus at Sant Tukaram Nagar, Pimpri, in the Pimpri-Chinchwad area of Pune. The campus sits near the old Mumbai–Pune highway and the Sant Tukaram Nagar station on the Pune Metro, so students can reach both Pimpri-Chinchwad’s industrial areas and central Pune without much difficulty.

DIT is a private college affiliated to Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU). It is accredited by NAAC with an ‘A++’ grade, and six of its undergraduate programmes hold NBA accreditation. In NIRF 2025 it is placed in the Engineering rank band 151–200. B.E. branches include Computer, IT, AI & Data Science, Electronics & Computer, E&TC, Electrical, Instrumentation, Automation & Robotics, Mechanical and Civil Engineering; M.E., MBA and Ph.D. programmes are also offered, with boys’ and girls’ hostels.
