Overview
Delhi Technological University (DTU) traces its roots to the Delhi Polytechnic set up in 1941, which later became the well-known Delhi College of Engineering and was upgraded to a university in 2009. Its large campus lies on Main Bawana Road at Shahbad Daulatpur, near Rohini in North-West Delhi, and it remains one of the most recognised engineering names in the capital for students from Delhi and beyond.
DTU is a State university (degree-awarding) of the Delhi Government and is ranked No. 30 in the NIRF 2025 Engineering ranking. B.Tech branches include Computer Science & Engineering (also with Data Science & Analytics), Software Engineering, Information Technology (also with Cyber Security), Mathematics & Computing, ECE (also with VLSI Design), Electrical, Mechanical (also with Automotive), Mechanical & Automation, Production & Industrial, Civil, Chemical, Environmental, Engineering Physics and Biotechnology. It also offers M.Tech, MBA and PhD programmes and has hostels for men and women.
B.Tech admission is through JEE Main, with seats allotted in JAC Delhi counselling.
