VNR Vignana Jyothi Institute of Engineering and Technology (VNR VJIET) was founded in 1995 and runs from Vignana Jyothi Nagar in Bachupally, near Nizampet and Pragathi Nagar in north-western Hyderabad. The area lies a few kilometres beyond Kukatpally and Miyapur in Medchal-Malkajgiri district, a fast-growing residential belt that draws students every year from across the city’s northern and western suburbs.

VNR VJIET is a private autonomous college affiliated to Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Hyderabad (JNTUH), recognised by AICTE, with UGC autonomy running to 2028-29.
