Overview

Sri Venkateswara College of Engineering (SVCE) sits at Pennalur village beside the Chennai–Bengaluru highway in Sriperumbudur, on the western fringe of the Chennai metropolitan area. The campus is surrounded by the Sriperumbudur–Oragadam automotive and electronics manufacturing belt, which gives core-branch students easy access to plant visits and internships. Its buildings house classrooms, laboratories, libraries, a sports arena, a canteen, a dispensary and a bank, and students come from across Tamil Nadu and neighbouring states.

SVCE is an autonomous college affiliated to Anna University, holds a NAAC A+ grade and has NBA-accredited programmes. It is placed in the NIRF 2025 Engineering rank band 201–300. Its twelve B.E./B.Tech programmes are Automobile, Chemical, Civil, Computer Science, EEE, ECE, Marine, Mechanical, Mechanical and Automation, Biotechnology, Information Technology, and AI and Data Science. Eight M.E./M.Tech programmes run alongside, and hostels are available on campus.

Government-quota B.E./B.Tech seats are allotted through TNEA counselling by DoTE, Tamil Nadu, on Class 12 marks in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry, so there is no entrance exam; management-quota seats are admitted by the college.
