Overview

Malaviya National Institute of Technology (MNIT) Jaipur was established in 1963 as the Malaviya Regional Engineering College and became an NIT in 2002. Its campus is on JLN Marg in Malviya Nagar, in the southern part of Jaipur, so unlike many NITs it sits inside a major city with easy access to the airport and railway station.

MNIT Jaipur is an Institute of National Importance placed at NIRF 2025 Engineering rank 42. B.Tech programmes include computer science, artificial intelligence and data engineering, electronics and communication, electrical, mechanical, chemical, civil, metallurgical and materials engineering, and it also offers B.Arch. Hostels are provided for undergraduate students.

B.Tech seats are filled on JEE Main ranks through JoSAA counselling, with separate Home State (Rajasthan) and Other State quotas. Eligibility

Class 12 with Physics and Mathematics (plus Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology or a technical vocational subject) meeting the JoSAA 75% (65% for SC/ST/PwD) or top-20-percentile criterion, and a valid JEE Main rank.

Admission process

B.Tech seats are allotted through JoSAA counselling (and CSAB special rounds for vacant seats) on the JEE Main rank, with 50% Home State (Rajasthan) and 50% Other State quotas. B.Arch uses the JEE Main architecture paper.
