Overview
Founded in 1936 by Rukmini Devi Arundale, Kalakshetra is a premier institution for Bharatanatyam and classical Carnatic music, functioning as an Institution of National Importance under an Act of Parliament.
Kalakshetra is recognised by the UGC for degree conferment and its rigorous gurukula-style training has produced many of India’s leading classical dancers and musicians.
