Overview

The School of Engineering Sciences & Technology (SEST) is the engineering school of Jamia Hamdard, a university campus at Hamdard Nagar in south Delhi. Jamia Hamdard received deemed-to-be university status in 1989, and SEST was set up in 1997 to add computing and engineering to a university better known for pharmacy, medicine and allied health sciences. The green campus lies close to Tughlakabad and the Mehrauli–Badarpur Road corridor.

Jamia Hamdard is a government-aided deemed-to-be university accredited ‘A+’ by NAAC, and it is placed in the NIRF 2025 Engineering rank band 201–300. SEST offers B.Tech in Computer Science & Engineering, CSE (Artificial Intelligence) and Electronics & Communication Engineering, with lateral entry into CSE and ECE, plus M.Tech specialisations such as Data Science and Cyber Forensics and a PhD in CSE. Hostels are available on the university campus.

B.Tech selection is based on merit in JEE Main (Paper 1), with applications made directly through Jamia Hamdard’s own admission process rather than a state counselling body. Eligibility

Class 12 with Physics and Mathematics (both compulsory) plus one of Chemistry, Computer Science or another listed subject, with at least 50% aggregate, and a JEE Main (Paper 1) score.

Admission process

Candidates apply directly to Jamia Hamdard; B.Tech selection is on merit in JEE Main Paper 1 (B.E./B.Tech), not through JoSAA, JAC Delhi or GGSIPU counselling.
