Overview
Established in 2008 by an Act of Parliament, the Indian Maritime University, headquartered in Chennai, is India’s central university dedicated to maritime education, training and research, with campuses across the country.
IMU is a UGC-recognised Central University and its programmes are approved by the Directorate General of Shipping (DG Shipping) in line with international STCW conventions.
