Overview

Indian Institute of Technology Jodhpur (IIT Jodhpur) was established in 2008, mentored in its early years by IIT Kanpur. Its permanent campus is at Karwar on the Jodhpur–Nagaur highway, about 20 km north of Jodhpur city in Rajasthan, and its buildings are designed for the hot, dry Thar desert climate.

IIT Jodhpur is an Institute of National Importance placed at NIRF 2025 Engineering rank 27. B.Tech programmes include computer science, artificial intelligence and data science, electrical, mechanical, civil, chemical, materials engineering, and bioengineering, and it also offers BS programmes and a B.Des. The campus is fully residential.

Admission to B.Tech is through JEE Advanced, with seats allotted in JoSAA counselling after candidates first qualify JEE Main. IIT Jodhpur was one of the few IITs where CSE became harder to get in 2025. Sign up free to see fees by quota, closing ranks and placement data.

Eligibility

Class 12 with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics meeting the JoSAA/IIT performance criterion (75%, or 65% for SC/ST/PwD, or top 20 percentile of the board), and qualification in JEE Advanced after clearing JEE Main.

Admission process

Qualify JEE Main, then appear in JEE Advanced; B.Tech seats at IIT Jodhpur are allotted through JoSAA counselling on the JEE Advanced rank.
