Overview

Indian Institute of Information Technology Una (IIIT Una) was set up in 2014 under the public-private partnership model, with the central government, the Himachal Pradesh government and industry partners as stakeholders. It was mentored by NIT Hamirpur and is based in Una district in the lower hills of Himachal Pradesh, near the Punjab border.

IIIT Una is an Institute of National Importance under the IIIT (PPP) Act. B.Tech programmes are in computer science, information technology, and electronics and communication engineering. Hostel arrangements are made for undergraduate students.

B.Tech seats are filled on JEE Main ranks through JoSAA counselling, with no home-state quota. Una has a railway station on the line from Punjab, which makes the institute easier to reach than many hill campuses. Sign up free to see fees by quota, closing ranks and placement data.

Eligibility

Class 12 with Physics and Mathematics (plus Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology or a technical vocational subject) meeting the JoSAA 75% (65% for SC/ST/PwD) or top-20-percentile criterion, and a valid JEE Main rank.

Admission process

B.Tech seats are allotted through JoSAA counselling (and CSAB special rounds for vacant seats) on the all-India JEE Main rank; IIITs have no home-state quota.
